cute birthday present

22 Jul

My sweet and dear friend Andrea is such a special friend of mine. I’ve talked about her before. Her daughter is Linnea, who oh my gosh, is the cutest thing ever. Jason and I photographed their maternity pictures. I photographed their delivery pictures. And Jason photographed their newborn pictures. I also had the pleasure of photographing her irresistible nursery for a piece that Tom Kat Studio was working on, which incredibly, is her employer! Those are just a few of the places that you may have heard me rave about Andrea. To top all that off, she is seriously such a loyal friend who has supported and lifted me up over the years in more ways than I can count!

To top all THAT off, she is a very creative and gifted person who has many talents! She’s an amazing seamstress, even though she probably wouldn’t say that she is. She’s got amazing ideas and is pretty inspirational. For my birthday, she made me the sweetest gift! I just fell in love with this bow clip as soon as I pulled it out of the bag! Who doesn’t love big bows?? I’m a sucker for clips like this and she hand crafted it just for me! I had to share because I just think it’s pretty adorable and I love putting fun girlie things in my hair. She isn’t selling these (yet!) but if I can convince her to and add another thing to her crazy to-do list, I’ll let you know!

For the meantime, Andrea, thank you so much for making me the cutest hair bow. I seriously want like, 8 more. You’re such a great friend and always know how to lift my spirits!

A couple of weeks ago, my very dear friend Andrea called with some very fun news! See, she works for Tom Kat Studio, is a stay at home working mamma, and has a beautiful baby girl Linnea. She called to let me know that Kim with Tom Kat Studio wanted to do a blog post about Linnea’s nursery and that both of them were interested in having me take the pictures! Of course, I was completely thrilled! The post was to be up on Tom Kat’s blog and also at Project Nursery.com, which is an adorable website as well- I highly suggest that you check them both out if you haven’t already!

So I zipped over to Andrea’s house a few days later- after my household was over that horrid cold that’s going around- and was able to spend some time with Andrea and her little lovebug, Linnea. You may remember this post of those few shots that I took of Linnea. Gosh, she’s such a doll!

So I Andrea and I spent the day together. I photographed her adorable nursery and then we had Mommy Work Day, where we watched a bunch of HGTV and worked ferociously on our businesses for the afternoon. It was a fantastic day, and we are totally going to do it again soon!

But in the meantime, check out the amazing write ups on Tom Kat Studio and Project Nursery along with the pictures that I was so happy to snap for them! Linnea’s nursery is amazing and Andrea is such a dear friend. Thanks for always thinking of me, love!

I had the pleasure of hanging out with this adorable monkey and her fantastic mother, Andrea today. We had a ‘Mommy Work Day’ together which we’ve been meaning to do together for awhile. Basically, we hung out, ate yummy food, and worked on our businesses while taking care of Cruz and Linnea. It was so much fun!

Before we hung out, Cruz and I went over to Andrea’s house to take pictures of Linnea’s fantastic nursery. Her nursery is being featured by Tom Kat Studio on Project Nursery soon and I was asked to snap the pictures! Of course I was thrilled! So keep your eyes peeled for that post and I will let you know as soon as it’s up!

But while I was there, taking pictures of the nursery, I couldn’t help but take pictures of this sweet, adorable little girl. She’s easily one of my favorites and she’s just super cute. The photo shoot quickly turned into Linnea’s own personal photo shoot and I know Andrea didn’t mind! She dotes on that little girl and loves her so very much- she was beside herself when I started snapping away!

I thought I’d post a couple pictures of Linnea here to share. I know you’ll agree that she’s an adorable little one! You have to wait on the post for the nursery… I’ll keep you posted for sure!

vacation from our vacation

5 Aug

We had such a great time this past weekend in Sedona. Our dear friends, The Evjen’s, saw two couples (us and The Alley’s) who really needed a mini vacation and to get away for a weekend. Alex took us up to her home in Sedona for the weekend; a trip that was planned when I was crushed about not being able to afford Disneyland. We still were able to go to Disneyland, with the help of my amazing family, and Alex and Ryan still wanted to take us up North- even though we were still able to go on an amazing vacation.

The Evjen’s and The Alley’s are great, great friends of ours. Alex and Ryan really made the weekend a great escape for four people who needed to relax! We were only there for two nights, but it was so relaxing and wonderful to get out of the heat and goof off with ridiculously cool people.

While we were in Sedona, Jay and I continued to document our lives. We love photography and honestly look at life as one big photo shoot.

This weekend was no different.

We had so much fun photographing everything. Nothing was off limits. We tried to capture every moment with these friends while we were there, capturing memories with friends that we are super grateful for.

Of course, we couldn’t start the weekend off without immediately taking tons of pictures of Cruz. That kid has more pictures that he will ever know what to do with. And I am grateful for that.

The cutest kid everPiano with DadWe went to Flagstaff for the day on Saturday to shop, eat and go to an amazing coffee shop called Macy’s. We found a random phone booth and all tried to jump in. It made for a lot of laughs, and really fun pictures.

The GirlsThe GuysThis is such a special little kid. I can’t even explain how much he lights everything and everyone up.

And isn’t the ground the coolest ever?

Rockstar BabyWe went to Macy’s for coffee- we’ve heard it’s the best coffee in the nation. And it was SO good!

I have too many pictures to post here. I could go on for days I’m pretty sure.

It was just so great to get away again this summer. We’ve been blessed with fantastic people in our lives who have taken such good care of us. People who have seen how stressed out Jason and I have been and who made it possible this summer for us to get out of town and forget about stress, money and the heat!

On top of the shopping, eating, belly laughing, and random photo shoots, it was the greatest to wake up to this view, these people and relax for a couple days.

I could stay here foreverMr. CruzI guess we got a vacation from our vacation after all!

A big thanks to Alex & Ryan for making this weekend so fun for us. You two are so giving- I know we, along with Andrea and Cody, are super grateful. I have a CD of all the pictures for all of you!
