A few weeks back, I posted that I was in Cali to take pictures of my beautiful cousin Sarah and her hubby who are due to have their first baby girl very, very soon! It was such a fun trip and I’ve been meaning to blog about it for a while now. I was only there for 24 hours, so it was a quick turn around trip. But it was a great break and it was the first time I’ve ever been away from Cruz overnight. So that was weird. But it had to happen at some point and I was with no better company!
Sarah picked me up from the airport in the evening after work. We ran by her house, picked up Jake and headed to Olive Garden. We sat there forever, chatting, laughing, speculating as to what their little girl is going to look and be like. It was so much fun to spend some good quality time with them. After dinner I’m pretty sure we stood in their hallway for 2 more hours talking and laughing. Family. I love it.
We woke up pretty early the next morning to head out to do their maternity pictures. I had such an amazing time photographing these two. We went to Huntington Beach, Seal Beach, an old car down the street, old railroad tracks, even a cemetery! These two were up for anything and it was so inspiring to be with them. They love each other so much. They can’t wait to meet their little girl, Jillian. And it’s so obvious that they, together, are going to be amazing parents and give her the best home ever.
It was a great break for me. A great 24 hours away. And to be honest, I missed Cruz so much, but Jake and Sarah were so welcoming to me and kept me pretty busy, I didn’t have a lot of time to be home sick for him! Plus, he was with Jay for the night so I of course knew he was in perfect hands.
Here’s a few of the pictures that I snapped of Sarah and Jake. I can’t wait to meet Jillian, and it won’t be long now! Somehow I have to get out to California (or get Sarah and Jake to come visit!) so I can take some pictures of their little Jillian. And so Jillian can meet Cruz too!

I’m so glad you were able to come to Cali to take our pics! It’s meant so much to us! And I can’t wait to bring Jilly to AZ to meet you in a couple months! I love you cousin!
I CAN’T WAIT for you, Jake and Jilly to come visit us! Once she’s here and you feel ready, let me know when you’re thinking. I’ll have my camera ready!
Love you!
